erin's buffet makeover...

I love a good before and after...so here we go!

This is a buffet I started yesterday for a client...and I just finished it up so thought I would snap a few pics. Sorry they are not the best. The sun was going down, so it was a 'now or never' scenario...as it usually is for me.

It needed more than a little love when I came across it. When I saw the picture I wasn't quite sure about this one...but it was solid oak, from the 1930s...deep down I knew it had potential. A little fixing and a few coats of paint later...viola! One mighty fine piece of furniture!

The handles on this piece are just awesome...and the doors and bottom drawer have a lace looking overlay on them. So pretty! Click on the photos to make them larger and see the details...

farm boy love...

They are just so handsome in those faded jeans and a John Deere hat...

Farmer tans, 6-pack abs from all the hard work...who could resist??

I admit...I am a sucker for boys like that.

I visited my sister in Iowa last weekend, and you see...she lives on a farm.

She has lots of beautiful land.

Oh, how I would love seeing this outside my kitchen window every morning!

And then there are the cows. Lots of cows.

Like this one...everywhere I went they were staring at me.

Cows are so pretty in their own way... it makes me feel bad about eating a burger now and then.

My sister and her husband hire boys that care for the beautiful land and the pretty cows...

All day long they would ride their tractor by the living room window...

But there were a couple boys that didn't get much work done.

I am not sure how much help they are just yet...but they sure look cute trying!

They get too much sunscreen to be able to achieve a "farmer's tan"...

And the muscles part...well...the little one is still in that cute "chubby" stage...

But there is something even cuter than worn jeans and farmer's tan...

Its a boy that loves his tractor...

Especially when he gives his little brother a ride...

It was such a relaxing weekend...so quiet and peaceful.

We carved pumpkins...baked cupcakes... played games.

No distractions...other than the cute farm boys...it was just a good time at home.

I have been working - literally - day and night on all the custom orders I received since the last show.

I hope to have the last one, a gorgeous dining room set, wrapped up and delivered by next weekend.
Who knows, maybe I will even show you pictures when I get it done!

Then I can concentrate on getting photos taken and edited...and finally get some goodies up on Etsy!

Oh, but I do have a twin and a full size bed up on Etsy now, for those of you that were asking.

one man's trash...

Ooooohhhh...oooh...oooohhh!!

Yes, that is what I was saying as I was jumping up and down in the middle of the street yesterday!

Can you belive someone threw this beauty in the trash???
But I am soooo glad they did!

She is HUGE...and super heavy.
And the garbage truck was just 3 houses down...I guess it was meant to be.

She is just so pretty...so much more beautiful in person!
